After nearly a month the PlayStation Network (PSN) is back up for North America! This is extremely exciting news for all PlayStation gamers who have been unable to access PSN which includes their media apps, online games, PS Store, Qriocity, and all other online services.
The attached blog entry from PSN indicates the services being offered to users for free as part of their Welcome Back / Customer Appreciation Program. This includes two free PS3 games, free trials to Qriocity and PlayStation Plus, and a form of identity theft protection. Read the blog for more information and updates form the Sony regarding the outage.
In addition, Hulu Plus subscribers are being credited free usage for the entire duration of the PlayStation outage — a very generous gift considering that lack of PS3 Hulu streaming service wasn’t their fault.
Now I’m off to finish Portal 2, try it online, and then download the new BlackOps Map Pack — Sarah Michelle Geller??? What!?
=)
