Virtual Tesco – Grocery shopping just got a whole lot easier.

Tesco has introduced an innovative approach to grocery shopping that is sweeping a South Korea subway station by storm. Placing QR codes on products seen on large life-size displays of shelves from Tesco grocery stores allows subway travelers to fill their virtual shopping basket without visiting the store.  Instead, they add products from the paper displays by snapping QR codes from their mobile devices, and then having their goods delivered to their home later that day.

What’s unique about this is that shoppers can walk around to different displays and browse products in the same familiar layout as a real Tesco store. They’ll have their smartphone Tesco app linked to their credit card, bank account, or perhaps paypal / EFC chips for instant checkout.  My only question is how much does delivery cost?
